MASTERCLASS Selfcompassion / Zelfcompassie in de klinische praktijk
This BRUCCpro Masterclass consists of 2 parts.
On the first day, participants will have the opportunity to participate in the Class of Excellence in Self-compassion Intervention. Both the latest science news and new research initiatives are discussed. Due to the international speaker, this day will be in English.
During the second day, participants will explore a number of core exercises to experience what self-compassion can mean, both for themselves and for their clients.

Speakers: Janis Whitlock & Lydia Castiglione
Janis Whitlockis a research scientist and senior lecturer at Cornell University (USA). In addition, she is the founder and director of the Cornell Self-Harm and Recovery Research Program, as well as a founder and first president of the ISSS. She is also the deputy director of education and training for the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research. Known internationally for her foundational work at NSSI, she now specializes in bridging science, practice and policy in areas related to adolescent and young adult development, with a focus on issues related to social and emotional development.
Lydia Castiglioneis a clinical psychologist and has more than 10 years of expertise in mindfulness, as well as experience in national and international (research) projects. Previously, she was a senior lecturer at the Institute of Attention and Mindfulness, but now focuses mainly on her doctoral research on self-compassion.
